Call for Application – Para Biathlon Basic Course 2026

The IBU Academy Coach Education Programme offers a clear pathway to success, with different levels of courses designed for everyone from novices to experienced coaches. For the 2026/27 season, the following new course is offered:

Para Biathlon Basic Course 2026

The Para Biathlon Basic Course consists of 90 hours and will be held online and in-person during two 3-day courses in June and September 2026. The Course completion requires practical hours to be completed during IBU para biathlon camps or within a club/NF environment.

• Week 1: 5 – 8 June 2026 (Antholz, ITA)

• Week 2: 22-25 September 2026 (Oberhof, GER)

Participants

A maximum of 12 motivated candidates with basic para biathlon knowledge, experienced para biathlon or cross-country coaches, and former athletes nominated by the National Federation.

Lectures

Theoretical and practical lessons in the fields of fundamentals of para biathlon, classification, accessibility, applied training science, skiing, shooting and coaches´ soft skills will be provided by well-known experts and coaches in the fields of para biathlon and sports science.
