IBU Academy First Level Course 25/26 Continues in Pokljuka
From 22 to 28 October 2025, the participants of the IBU Academy First Level Course 25/26 convened in Pokljuka, Slovenia, where the snowy idyll of the venue provided a perfect setting for learning and development during their second educational week. A total of 20 coaches from 19 National Federations gathered for an intensive and enriching program that marked the midpoint of the three-week course.
Bringing together 12 female and 8 male coaches from 19 National Federations, the diverse group further expanded their knowledge and coaching expertise under the guidance of a distinguished team of lecturers and educators. The week was characterised by a collaborative atmosphere, active exchange of knowledge, and engaging group work, fostering both professional growth and strong connections among the participants.
Comprehensive Week of Learning
The Second week focused on practical training and skill development. Participants engaged in various sessions covering strength and agility training, shooting intensity, endurance training methods, and practical preparations for youth biathlon competitions. The course also included lectures on biomechanical aspects of shooting, training philosophy, and physiological determinants of biathlon performance.
The IBU Academy expresses its sincere gratitude to the Organizing Committee in Pokljuka and to this week's IBU Lecturers and Educators: Knut Kuvas Brevik (NOR), Nika Blazenic (SLO), Björn Sterzing (GER), Oyvind Sandbakk (NOR) and Gerold Sattlecker (AUT) for their outstanding support in delivering this important event.
