IBU Academy First Level Course Concludes in Ramsau
The final week of the IBU Academy First Level Course successfully concluded in Ramsau, Austria, from 1–7 April 2025, marking the completion of a three-week educational journey for aspiring biathlon coaches.
This international course, designed to build foundational coaching skills in biathlon, spanned three separate weeks over the past year:
Week 1: Hochfilzen, Austria – May 2024
Week 2: Pokljuka, Slovenia – October 2024
Week 3: Ramsau, Austria – April 2025
A total of 19 participants successfully completed the course and received their IBU First Level Coaching Certificates in Ramsau.
Practical Training and Educators in Ramsau
The final module emphasized hands-on application of coaching principles. Under the expert guidance of Matthias Ahrens and Sven Fischer (both from Germany), participants engaged in intensive skiing and shooting instruction. A highlight of the week was the practical coaching assignment, where each participant demonstrated their acquired skills in real-world coaching scenarios.

The successful completion of this course reflects IBU Academy's continued commitment to developing high-quality coaching education in biathlon. The certified coaches now return to their national programs equipped with new skills, perspectives, and a network of peers across Europe and beyond.
