IBU Technicians´ Seminar 2025

From 24-25 September 2025, the IBU hosted a Technicians´ Seminar in Salzburg, Austria, bringing together technicians from more than 20 National Federations to equip them with the latest tools, insights, and practical know-how for the upcoming biathlon season.

This year's seminar, led by Tomasz Bernat, featured insightful presentations from leading wax companies - Maplus, Star, Rex, Vola, and Toko, offering participants the chance to discover new products, gain insights into the latest industry trends, and engage directly with company experts.

The program provided a dedicated session on ski care and the importance of waxing, underlining best practices for performance and maintenance. The IBU also provided updated guidance on the fluor ban and the implementation of common waxing protocols, offering practical instruction, highlighting frequently observed mistakes, and clarifying how standardized procedures will be applied at both regional and national levels.

By combining technical expertise, industry innovation, and clear regulatory guidance, the seminar ensured that teams are well-prepared to meet the challenges of the upcoming Olympic Season.
